Hi, friends! Jack is here. It's been a long long time - more than 2 years since we have been in touch with you.
If you see this post for the first time - please, consider our Studio profile - we've been in Adult Game Dev for a long time and have two games and thousands of fans.
I (Jack) have indeed closed the studio due to some troubles that, as I and Alice thought at the end of 2021, were the biggest.
Because I and Alice are Ukrainians, you can guess what came after - russia started a war three months after the studio final post - that is why we weren't able to do anything else than establish a new life with our 6 months-old daughter.
Two years have passed, and it seems that we've managed to settle ourselves into a new life and adapt to the current situation. And because I've been working in a Game Dev company during these years, I've become more and more interested in the way Steam deals with NSFW games.
Because one of the main problems we faced promoting Brothel City is... well, you just can't promote it, Steam provides such an opportunity to show your game to a major audience.
Our initial developer is no longer available (as well as the initial code of the game) because he is russian, now I am searching for someone to help me port the Brothel City game to Steam. I understand that I can sound biased but I am sure this Lewd Strategy is worth showing to Steam audience and has the potential to become successful in a commercial way, too.
I propose the same cooperation model as I had before within Darot Games - revshare, so
if you are a developer yourself or know someone who could be interested
- please, let me know, and let's show Brothel City to Steam. It would be awesome if you like the game as a Player, too!
Also, I am into any other propositions of cooperation - I am happy to consider them.

Porting implies access to original code, so you're effectively looking for someone who would code Brothel City pretty much from scratch, which will be very time consuming and very tedious if you want the end result to be as close as possible to the original. Unless you have every Brothel City design meticulously documented, and original programmer stuck to it to the letter, end result may be way off from the original without a lot of extra time.
Steam doesn't require dedicated version of the game and what you have already could be released there without a problem, but... last I checked and IIRC, Brothel City was not only unfinished, but also pretty buggy at later stages of the game... don't remember the details now, but I think some of them were pretty serious and/or game-breaking. You'd have to be very careful what and how you do if you'd release current version on Steam, especially considering you want to code it from scratch.
Also, don't think releasing the game on Steam will magically solve all your problems... yes, it has a massive reach and potential gains, but competition is also massive, and you won't be competing with only other NSFW games, so it won't be easy to get noticed.
And last but not least, to afford potential programmer you'd probably need to convince people to crowdfund a reboot of a game which wasn't finished in the first place, which I think will be very hard.
I sympathize with your situation, liked Brothel City despite its shortcomings, and I wish you all the best, but I think someone should give you a reality check.

Hi, dear! Thank you so much for the detailed feedback, and yes, you are right - it would be more correct to say I am searching for someone to write the game from scratch. It is not like I hope this will happen - unless some of our fans would consider this fun for them to do.
But anyway, I just wanna try especially because have some new ideas to check within this industry.
